On Saturday, June 21 from 9:00 until 12:00 we will be working with Claremont Middle School (a school that we have developed a flourishing partnership with), working in the garden, organizing some supplies and doing some painting.
Day of Peace is a coordinated effort executed by local churches that mobilize volunteers to serve and meet the needs in our East Bay Community. A Day of Peace is not an overtly Christian project as there is no teaching or prayer, and the agencies and organizations served are not faith-based non-profits. Thus, a Day of Peace creates an opportunity for churched and unchurched, spiritual and secular, religious and a-religious alike to come together simply to love and serve our shared community. Whether you are a friend, neighbor, or colleague, someone who cares very deeply about the agency that is being served, or someone who just wants to make new friends, the Day of Peace is a great place for you to get connected into service.
Project Peace connects the resources of local churches with the needs of social service providers and agencies in Berkeley, Oakland, and surrounding areas.
